Wines (MMI) - One of the great

- The Bethlen Home,
directed by the Rev. Dr. Bertalan A Imre, Jr., the Bethlen Home is a
faith based, non-profit health care facility, affiliated with the Hungarian
Reformed Federation of America (HRFA).
- American Hungarian
Foundation, directed by Prof. Molnar Agoston, and founded in 1954,
is devoted to furthering the understanding and appreciation of the Hungarian
cultural and historical heritage in the United States.
- Friends of United
Way-Hungary, headed by Laszlo Buda in Cleveland, was founded in
2004 to promote and support United Way-Hungary in North America. United
Way-Hungary is an affiliate of United
Way-International which is based in Alexandria, VA.
- SARA
(Sharing America's Resources Abroad) is affiliated with the
Ohio United Church of Christ and headed by Rev. Dr. Szilagyi Istvan.
SARA is a Christian ministry offering medical assistance to improve
lives around the world.
- The
Hungarian Society of Massachusetts is headed by Dr. Karoly Balogh.
Hungarian immigrants have resided in New England since the 18th century.
One hundred years on, in 1852, the great Hungarian statesman, Lajos
Kossuth, reported meeting fellow patriots during his state visit to
America. Today, HSM aims to foster and impart Hungarian language, culture,
identity and traditions to Hungarian descendants; develop and maintain
strong ties between Americans and Hungarians; Support one another; cultivate
and nurture ties with Hungary and Hungarian émigrés around
the world; and provide moral, spiritual and financial support for Hungarian
causes.
- The
Lyukas Zaszlo "Torn From the Flag" Project, headed by
Kovacs Klaudia, is a new documentary film about the Hungarian Revolution
of 1956 and its significant international consequences. This revolt
served as an important harbinger of the future downfall of communism
and later political and economic rearrangement of the world.
- Hungarian Scholarship Fund, headed
by Prof. Bela Bognar, was founded to finance the educational needs of
needy students of Hungarian descent in Hungary and former Hungarian
lands. Dr. Bognar also founded the Hungarian Ancestry Scholarship Fund
(HASF) at Wright State University
in the Fall of 1988. The HASF Fund, earmarked for American students
of Hungarian origin.
- Hungarian Club of
Colorado - Founded in 1963 in Denver, HCC offers different activities
all year around, including traditional Hungarian holiday celebrations,
such as its New Year's Eve Party with lots of fun, dance and good food;
Children's programs; Picnics - just to mention a few.

- The Royal Hungarian Gendarmerie Veterans Association. The Hungarian
Gendarmerie, known as the Csendorség, was responsible for the
public safety and the maintenance of law and order in rural Hungary
from its formation in 1881 until its dissolution at the end of WWII
- Louisiana Hungarians,
headed by Dr. Stephen Gergatz and Julia Bika, is a non-profit tax exempt
cultural and educational organization founded November 21, 2000 in New
Orleans. The membership consists of US citizens of Hungarian ancestry,
Hungarian citizens temporarily staying in the New Orleans area and others
interested in Hungarian culture. HungarLA has sponsored the installation
of a bronze plaque designed by Bertalan Andrasfalvy on Lafayette Square
in New Orleans to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the visit of
Lajos (Louis) Kossuth to New Orleans.
- American-Hungarian
Executive Circle (AHEC) Fosters closer business ties among Americans
of Hungarian ethnicity. AHEC mutually advances and strengthens American-Hungarian
business relationships.
