Michael Haltzel, Senior Fellow at the Center for Transatlantic Relations of Johns Hopkins University's School of Advanced International Studies sand formerly the senior foreign policy advisor to Vice President Biden when he was Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, shared his thoughts about the film. “Twenty years after the end of the Cold War some have forgotten the horrors of the other brutalism of the twentieth century and the similarity between Communism and Nazism. It’s important for people, especially students, to see this film lest we forget that history whose devastating influence we still see today,” said Mr. Koszorus in his welcoming remarks.Buy it now on AHF's Amazon Store! Assisted by the West, this power triumphed on May 9th, 1945. Its crimes were made taboo, and the complete story of Europe’s most murderous regime has never been told. Until now… ”The Soviet Story” was filmed over 2 years in Russia, Ukraine, Latvia, Germany, France, UK and Belgium. Material for the documentary was collected by the author, Edvins Snore, for more than 10 years. As a result, ”The Soviet Story” presents a truly unique insight into recent Soviet history, told by people, once Soviet citizens, who have firsthand knowledge of it.
