2007 - The Cleveland Hungarian Development Panel helps
bring Hungarian Baseball Kids to USA for the first time... Good
Sports International began organizing baseball in Hungary in orphanages
in Miskolc. The
Tiger Kids began as a community team two years ago in Debrecen, Hungary.
The
first baseball field was dedicated in Debrecen this June of 2007. It was
the first official baseball field in Eastern Hungary. The Debrecen
TigerKids, their parents and coaches, sparked the building of the
baseball field.
The
TigerKids attended a baseball camp this summer in Lancaster, Ohio. After
two weeks of baseball camp, the Kids traveled to Cleveland, Ohio and were
received by the Hungarian-American community. This is the team's first
trip to the United States and the first trip to the US by any Hungarian
baseball team. The TigerKids attended the Great Lakes Science Center and
the special exhibit, Baseball as America. They were trilled to attend
their first major league baseball game, Cleveland Indians vs New York
Yankees. They played a Friendship
Game with a Little League team and attended a picnic hosted by the Hungarian
Community. Several Hungarian Organization in Cleveland helped collectively
to showcase Cleveland as a diverse cultural population composed of many
supportive Hungarian organizations.
Organizations
participating were:

Panel
