- 1956 - 2006: San Diego House of Hungary 50th Anniversary Dinner.. San
Diego's House of Hungary will commemorate the 50th anniversary of the
Hungarian Revolution and sponsor a dinner with the "Carpathian Folk
Band" on Saturday, Octrober 21st at 4 pm at the St. George Church’s
Reception Hall (3025 Denver St., San Diego, 92117). The Guest speaker
is Ferenc Bösenbacher General Consul to the Republic of Hungary.
Menu: fried crepes with meat and/or mushroom filling,
mashed potatoes and French salad, dessert: krémes. Refreshments
and alcoholic beverages available.
Directions: exit I-5 at Clairemont Dr. to the East and
turn left on Denver Street.
The event is free for our members, guest tickets are $30. Seating is
limited; please, make reservations immediately with Louis Mesaros at 858-487-3058.

"Torn from the Flag." AHF is proud to support
the "Torn from the Flag" project. This new documentary film
produced by AHF member Klaudia Kovacs about the significant international
consequences and participants of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956. This
very event was the first indicator of the future downfall of communism,
later political and economic rearrangement of the world, and had important
effects on the Cold War. This event was so important that the United Nations
kept the “Hungarian Question” on its agenda until 1962. [read

- "Torn from the Flag"
documentary completes US Shoot and continues to make progress! Despite
no fundraising events this quarter, the project continued receiving
donations. Though over $300,000 has been raised, there is still $200,000
to go! Seen here after her interview with Henry Kissinger in New York

With Vilmos Zsigmond’s belief in the project and his enthusiastic
recommendation, we were accepted into Panavision’s Young Filmmaker’s
Program.

100% of the U.S. shoot is complete - proceeding with the filming
planned in Europe.
